Police Blotter October 30, 2009

Enticement of a Child

On October 24, 2009 at approximately 9:00 p.m., a Sheridan officer was patrolling in the 3100 block of W. Oxford Ave. when he was flagged down by a group of juveniles. The officer learned that one of the female juveniles was walking across the high school parking lot when an older model red or orange colored vehicle pulled up to her. The driver was an adult male and told her to get in the car. The juvenile victim screamed and ran towards her group of friends that were ahead of her in the parking lot. The suspect vehicle fled the parking lot and has not been located at this time.

Motor Vehicle Theft

On October 27, 2009 at approximately 11:15 p.m., Sheridan Police responded to the 1800 block of W. Oxford Ave. on a reported motor vehicle theft. When the officer arrived it was learned that the victim parked his vehicle in a parking lot for several hours and when he returned, the vehicle was gone. The vehicle has been entered into a nationwide database as an active stolen vehicle.

Motor Vehicle Theft

On October 27, 2009 at approximately 2:45 p.m., Sheridan Police responded to the 3400 block of W. Quincy Ave. on a reported recovered motor vehicle theft. Officers learned that the victim’s vehicle was stolen from a parking lot in the 3400 block of W. Quincy Ave. during the previous night. The victim began searching the area and located her vehicle in the 4400 block of S. Lowell Blvd. At this time there are no investigative leads in this case.

Shoplifting

On October 29, 2009 at approximately 7:40 p.m., Sheridan Police responded to the 3700 block of S. River Point Parkway on a shoplifting. When officers arrived on scene it was learned that several suspects entered the store and began collecting merchandise. The suspects then ran out of the front doors and fled in a gray colored Nissan. An employee of the business was able to obtain a license plate from the vehicle as it fled. Officers are actively investigating this case.
